To open the GME your day will start with a start cache. The cache is  mandatory for you to be allowed to log the event on geocaching.com. You’ll have to download the description at home (see below). You’ll be able to start the cache at 09:15 when the first clue is placed at the starting point. In order to avoid crowds there are three start caches.

•             Cars west – for people by car from the north and west
•             Cars east – for people by car from the east and south
•             Public transport – for participants who travel by public transport

For your information: the star-shaped logo of Naarden (front) will be silver-colored and in 3D. The star-shape itself will be emaille transparent and the coin silver.

All good things come to an end and this also goes for the Geocaching Multi Event. 2011 will be the last year GME is going to be organised. It started as a small-scale meeting in 2003, but has grown into one of the largest Geocaching events in Europe over the past nine years: it is now a mega event with more than 500 participating teams from almost every European country, while some teams are not even from Europe. All those years a large group of Scouting Erica volunteers spent a lot of time making this unique event possible. No matter how sorry we are, we lack the time needed to be able to keep this tradition alive. We have decided to put this project to an end with GME2011 on Saturday april 16. The party is promising to be absolutely unforgettable. Be there!

We are looking for Dutch cachers to help us make many caches for this years GME.

In Naarden, the Geocaching Multi Event 2011 takes place at Saturday April 16th, 2011. We can accomodate 950 participants. Registration shall start at February 1st, 2011.
